Pride in the Park

Join us on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 12-3:30 pm!

This year’s event will be held in Lewis Park (new location!!) following the Pride Parade down Fifth Street, which has been organized this year by our friends at Queer Centre and Weird Church.

Pride in the Park is a free, all-ages event celebrating queer life, diversity, and joy with plenty for folks to do and enjoy. It has continued to grow over the years and, with the increased space provided at Lewis Park, there will now be over 40 local vendors, artisans, and community groups in attendance. Kid friendly activities included! Several food trucks will be available for attendees to visit as well. Don’t miss out on the glamorous lineup of performers that are eager to entertain you at the main stage, hosted by our own local comedian Patti Savard! Check out our social media pages that highlight the amazing artists!

Two-Spirit & Indigenous LGBTQIA+ Artist Event

The Pride Society of the Comox Valley is collaborating with I-Hos Gallery and community members to host an event celebrating Indigenous queerness in the Comox Valley. It will take place at the end of August/beginning of September 2025 (specific dates TBD).

The exhibition will feature art by local Indigenous queer artists. The art is not required to conform to any particular style or medium. Artists will be remunerated for the contribution of their work, and pieces will be returned safely after the exhibition. Pieces will be displayed at the event alongside art by other Indigenous 2SLGBTQIA+ artists. This means that you get paid, your work receives attention, and you retain ownership of your art.

If you are interested in participating in the opening with a performance medium, please email [email protected]

If you are interested in having your art featured at I-Hos, please fill out this form by August 29!

Pride in the Park 2023

After a 4-year hiatus, Pride in the Park returned to the Comox Valley!

In the lead-up to Pride Weekend, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Queer Culture, who orchestrated the Valley’s first-ever Pride Parade, plus a sold-out club night and drag brunch. CV Pride also partnered with the City of Courtenay’s LINC Youth Centre , who hosted a very successful youth Pride dance, and with the Comox Valley Regional District Recreation on a free Pride Family Swim to close out the weekend.

The parade ended up in Simms Park, where the Pride Society was waiting to greet the crowd along with a host of performers and exhibitors. The weekend was a huge success overall with overwhelming support from our sponsors and community partners, and it was beautiful to see all the smiling faces everywhere.

Here’s a short video snapshot of the day made by Roz Humphreys, using her live footage in combination with photos by Sara Kempner Photography.
